Episode #04: Spirituality & Music
In this episode, This Realm of Existence Blog & Podcast creator and host Sharron W., talks to Crystle D. about the intersectionality of spirituality and music, as we dissect Black Parade by Beyoncé. In recent years, Beyoncé has become more spiritual in her music, singing about topics that many people to this day still deem as taboo such hoodoo, working with crystals, honoring our ancestors, the Orishas and more.
We discuss why these topics are not in fact evil, contrary to what some believe. Unfortunately, some people have been so engrained with a specific doctrine that if they hear anything that goes against or is outside of what they have been taught, they automatically dismiss it, or believe that it is evil without any further study.
Crystle D. is the host of a podcast called Side Bar Conversations with Crystle D., where she discusses hot topics in media, music, money and more. You can visit Crystle’s Linktree site at https://linktr.ee/crystledee. You can also follow her on Instagram and TikTok at mythoughtscouldbeablog, and on Facebook at Crystle Smith.
I hope that this episode opens your mind to experience and at least learn about those topics that you may be curious about or just have very little knowledge of. You never know what you might discover.
