It Could Always Be Worse
I am grateful for my health.
I am grateful for all blessings and abundance.
I am grateful for my parents and their health.
I am grateful to have a roof over my head.
I am grateful for a sound mind.
I am grateful for all that I have.
The above represent just a few of the MANY things that I am truly grateful for. Life has so many ebbs and flows, and oftentimes when life situations come up, we get angry and upset, which causes us to forget how blessed we truly are. But no matter what comes up, I encourage you to maintain an attitude of gratitude because things could be worse.
Regardless of where you currently are in life, there is someone wishing they were in your position. While I understand that whatever you are going through is hard and you do not wish to be in that position, just remember that you are still blessed. Trust and believe when I was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, I absolutely did not want that. I cried so much and could not understand why it was happening. Going through treatment was not easy, but I still had to find a way to maintain an attitude of gratitude.
Initially, the scariest part was not knowing the stage, but how blessed was I that it was caught at a very early stage. For that, I had no choice but to be grateful. So many other people catch it at much later stages and have to endure a much longer treatment, while others unfortunately catch it too late for anything to be done. To say that I am beyond thankful that my treatment worked, would be an understatement.
Many people look at their lives and want more and there is nothing wrong with that. However, instead of being grateful for what they do have, which allows the door for more to open, they constantly complain. I have learned that we cannot expect more if we are not grateful for what we currently have. The more grateful you are for the abundance that you already have, although you may not see it as abundance right now, the more abundance you will see coming into your life.
You may look at your bank account for example, and complain about the amount, but there’s another person next to you wishing they had what was in your bank account. They are struggling between paying for food or medication. So, again whatever you are going through, I encourage you to maintain an attitude of gratitude. We all have something or many, many things to be grateful for. Always remember that.
