Keep The Mystery

People do not keep the mystery anymore, and many are unfortunately so uncouth and ‘tell it all.’  The internet does not need to know everything about you, what is going on in your life, and so on.  Some things are meant for just you to know.  Not even your friends and family need to know everything.  Keep an air of mystery about yourself.

I think that most will agree that in today’s digital age, the internet has become an integral part of our lives.   It can offer many great benefits, including instant communication, access to a lot of information, and much, much more.  However, it is also important to exercise caution in this digital age and to not put everything out there because not everything needs to be shared.

Once something is shared online, anyone can access it, and some of the things that I have seen posted online are ridiculous.  I have seen people post information about their most private and intimate moments, to information about their children and everything in between.

Even if you choose to delete it later, you must understand that the internet is forever, and it will never truly be deleted.  It is still going to be out there somewhere, as people may have already taken screenshots, or even saved it to their archives.  Not to mention, employers often check social media profiles before hiring and inappropriate photos or commentary shared online could be deemed a red flag, preventing you from being hired.

Ultimately, be very mindful about what you share online, and again, keep an air of mystery about yourself.  Not everyone needs to know what is going on in your life at every given moment, especially those private and/or intimate moments.  What you post online today, may have negative implications in the future, so be careful.
