The Market Is Saturated

The market is too saturated.  You should pursue another career.  You should pursue another option.  Let me stop you right there.  I loathe when people say that a certain market is too saturated and use that as a reason to project their own fears and insecurities onto others, or use it as a reason to talk themselves out of something.  Take a step back and just stop.

When I decided to go to law school, most people were very congratulatory and wished me well.  However, there were others who were quite negative.  I would hear phrases such as “The world doesn’t need more lawyers.”  “Lawyers are a dime a dozen.”  “Oh great, another lawyer, like we need that.”  I was baffled, because instead of simply wishing me well, they decided to project their own insecurities onto me.  Yes, there are many lawyers in the world; some good and some bad, but what the legal profession did not have at the time was me.  It did not have my character, my wit, my knowledge, my expertise, my intelligence, and so on.

Think about this.  If you go to the search bar in YouTube and type in anything such as how to start a garden, or how to roast potatoes, or even how to sing to a strawberry, you will find so many videos of multiple people talking about that particular subject.  However, each of those people are unique in how they present the information, how they put together their video, and so on.  They are unlike the other one hundred plus videos that are out there on the same subject.  They have put their own unique spin on the subject, building a following that relates to how they present their information.

What do you desire to build for yourself?  Do you desire to build a particular business, or start a particular project?  Have you allowed others to infiltrate your mind with their negative and insecure thinking about how saturated that particular market is?  Have you allowed yourself to talk yourself out of doing that you want to do?

Do not allow others or yourself to talk you out doing something that is on your heart to do, simply because that market is supposedly “saturated,” because what that market or industry does not have is you.  You, who could potentially make that business or industry even better, and your uniqueness is what is missing.  You better go for it and never look back.  If it was placed on your heart and the vision placed in your mind, it was placed there for a reason, so go forth and be great.  Conquer that so called “saturated” market.
