Vision Boards

Let’s talk about vision boards!  What are they?  Why create one?  I absolutely love vision boards because they serve as visuals of my goals and dreams, and what I am working towards.  I display my vision board in an area where I am forced to see it daily.

A vision board is a powerful tool for manifestation, because as the saying goes, if you can dream it, you can do it.  Seeing these “dreams” visualized in a space where you will see them every day is amazing.  Being able to see constantly what you want in your future, can help motivate and inspire you to continue working on your goals.

When creating a vision board, I think about what I want and I write it down.  I write down everything from what my dream home looks like, to what my ideal relationship looks like, dream travel destinations, the amount of money I want in my bank account, and much, much more.  For example, one of my dreams and goals is to have property in Dubai.  I write that down, visualize it, and may even search the internet for properties for sale in Dubai.  When I see a photo that I absolutely love, I print it out, and that photo may be included on my vision board under the words Dubai Real Estate.  One of my dream vehicles is a fully loaded Range Rover, so you better believe there is a photo of a beautiful range rover on my vision board.  I even printed a photo of myself, and put me in the range rover in the driver’s seat.  I also visit range rover dealerships and sit in the vehicles to feel the seat against my body, and to inhale the new car smell.

With a vision board, you can get as specific as you want, or you can put words like abundance, prosperity, love, and more.  There is no one way to do a vision board.  For me, I get as specific as possible, especially with things that I know I want.  I can envision my dream home, how many bedrooms it has, the number of bathrooms, the pool, my garden, and more.  I can see myself in this home, smiling as a prepare my family a wonderful meal in my dream kitchen with my stainless-steel appliances.  I can picture myself in my garden with my basket, as I retrieve my ripened fruits and vegetables; food that I grew for my family where I did not have to worry about unknown chemicals.  I envision bringing my basket back into my kitchen, where I place it on my beautiful quartz countertops, as music plays in the background, while my partner and I talk about our next travel destination.  I envision the peace, safety, and quietness of the community.

Although many people print photos online to include on their vision boards, part of me is also old school as well, so I still use magazines, in addition to photos from the internet.  If a particular photo or text resonates with me and what I see for my future, I will cut it out and tape it to my vision board.  I typically use a large piece of foam board that I pick up from the dollar store.  When selecting photos to use, whether from a magazine, the internet, or otherwise, be sure think about every aspect of your life, from your dream travel destinations, to your dream home, vehicle(s), your hobbies, love, your family, and more.  Use photos that resonate with you and represent what you truly want.

I used to keep a photo of my vision board on my phone, but I had to get real with myself.  Was I really looking at that photo all of the time?  No.  I was not.  In fact, I often forgot about it.  I even saved it as a screen saver, thinking that would work, but let’s be honest.  We are usually in an app, email, or internet on our phone, so I may have seen the screen saver for two seconds if that.  For others however, having a photo of their vision board on their phone works well for them, and it might work well for you too.

You may have also heard about vision board parties, which many people typically have towards the end of, or the beginning of the year.  I have not attended one as of yet, but I think that it is an amazing idea to be able to bounce ideas off of other people, and for them to help you in thinking about your vision and goals and making them clear.

When creating your vision board of what you want, and the new opportunities that you want to invite in, be sure to always express gratitude for everything that you currently have.  How can we receive more, when we are not grateful for what we already have?  A grateful heart is a blessed heart.  So, while I have my dream home in mind, I am also extremely grateful for the condo that I currently have.  I am grateful for my car that I currently have.  It is important to keep a positive outlook with every part of your vision board.  And remember, this vision board is your own, so do not allow anyone to tell you what should or should not be included on your vision board.  You have to live your life and you have every right to create the life that you want on your terms.  Make your vision board your own.

I wish you a prosperous, abundant, and healthy 2023!  Go out and live your best life as you go after all of your goals and dreams in this realm of existence and beyond!
