My Dubai Dream

Imagine your dream life.  Envision what it looks like, smells like, feels like.  Where do you live?  Where do you travel to?  Do you travel first class?  Business class?  Private?  Are you in a relationship with your dream man or dream woman?  Do you have children?  What type of foods do you eat?  Do you try new things?  What are your hobbies?  Do you have a personal trainer?  Do you get massages once a week?  Once a month?  How often do you go to the beauty salon?  How important is fashion to you?  Do you live in a large home on many acres of land?  Do you live in a penthouse suite in a condo overlooking the city skyline or the ocean?  What do you do for fun?  How do you spend your money?  Do you make amazing investments to multiply your money?  Are you into real estate investing?  Stock investing?

For me, I envision so much in the life that I am creating, one of which is my Dubai dream.  I took my very first trip to Dubai in 2013, and I fell in love.  It is hard to explain but it was a feeling that I had been there before.  I felt like I was home.  My soul was so happy, and I almost cried from the moment I stepped off of the plane. Dubai is the largest and most populous Emirate in the United Arab Emirates (There are a total of seven Emirates), and is known for shopping, ultramodern architecture, a lively nightlife scene, and amazing food from around the world!  It truly is a food lovers paradise.

I traveled there with my mother, and we took British Airways, which of course had a layover in London.  But when we arrived in Dubai, as we stepped off of the plane, there was a sign that read, “British Airways welcomes you to Dubai.”  I was smiling from ear to ear, as we made our way up the escalator, through the corridor, then back down the escalator on the other side to continue onto immigration and customs and baggage claim.  Once through customs, we found our driver holding the sign with our name and proceeded to our awaiting car.  We booked a roundtrip private car service about two weeks prior to our arrival in Dubai.

As we drove through the streets of Dubai, making our way to the Jumeirah Beach Residence area (JBR), where our condo was located, I was in awe, as I looked out the window at some of the most amazing architectural structures in the world.  From the twisted Cayan Tower to the Burj Khalifa, which is currently the world’s tallest building, to the Burj Al Arab hotel, with its distinctive sail-shape, and has been repeatedly voted as the world’s most luxurious hotel, I was at a loss for words.

People have often asked me why I decided to visit Dubai back then, and to be honest, I’m not sure what even made me want to go to there in the first place.  My mother and I have talked about that often asking one another, do you remember what initially made us want to go to Dubai?  And neither one of us could remember.  We had not watched any documentaries, or YouTube videos, and did not know anyone at that time who had visited and told us about it, so we were stumped.  But I guess deep down, I just knew that was home.

Following that trip, I remember writing myself a note, which I still have, that said that I was going to own properties in Dubai one day.  One was going to be my vacation home for my family and I, and the others would be used as investment properties.  I did not know how or when this would happen, but I said that it was going to manifest and that one day, it would be a reality.

I specifically wrote this note to myself in my vision book as if I already had it:

“Since my first visit to Dubai in 2013, when it officially became my favorite destination in the world I had a dream, vision and goal of purchasing property there.  This dream only strengthened with each subsequent visit.  Well God is so good and saw to it that my vision came to fruition.  Today, I closed on my first property in Dubai; an amazing condo with spectacular views, and I am beyond excited.  With God, all things are possible.”

I still do not know when this is going to happen, but I have an extreme belief, and unwavering faith and knowing that it is going to happen.  As I put this out into the universe, I play the entire scenario in my mind as if I am watching a movie, and it goes a little something like this.

It is a beautiful sunny morning in Dubai, as I sit in one of the EMAAR Buildings downtown with my parents, signing the settlement documents on my first property in Dubai.  As a side note, EMAAR is a Real Estate Development Company, with a global portfolio of projects in amazing locations, including the United States.

As I sign my paperwork, I am so grateful.  I have wanted this for so long and the day is now here.  The room is an executive conference room with large black leather chairs and 180-degree glass windows.  In the near distance, I can see the Burj Khalifa in all of its glory.  To the right of me, there is a beautiful marble table, similar to an entry way table that houses a gorgeous gift basket of swanky items.  There are two other men in the room; one is dressed in the national dress, and the other has a beautiful perfectly tailored blue suit.  There are also two other women in the room, one of whom is wearing a hijab and the national dress, and the other, who is my lawyer, is wearing a gorgeous custom-made black skirt suit, with a champagne-colored silk blouse.  These people represent the Title & Closing company, the Law Firm that I hired to assist in the purchase of this property, as well as the real estate company.  The seller’s agent is also in attendance to sign the documents.

Everyone is in a good mood, especially me and my parents.  We go through all of the documents, and I ask questions along the way, which are fully answered by my attorney and realtor to my satisfaction.  They have been extremely helpful during this process of searching for my first property in Dubai, and I am grateful for their guidance and expertise.  As I sign the last document, a huge smile comes across my face, as I hold back tears.  I am now officially an owner of real estate in Dubai!

I have dreamt of this moment since 2013 and to see it come to fruition and manifest in my reality has me a little emotional, yet super excited and grateful.  The gratitude that I feel towards God, my Ancestors and my Spirit Guides is overwhelming.  I am so happy and smiling from ear to ear.  I laugh when everyone in the room breaks out in applause and congratulates me.  My realtor and lawyer gifts me that huge gift basket that I saw when I initially walked into the room.  It includes candles, and various foods like dates and honey, both of which are popular staples in Dubai.

I thank them for their generosity as well as for their guidance during this process.  The process was easy and smooth, and I am so grateful for both my realtor and attorney.  They explained every step along the way, always keeping me informed and up to date.

My new condo is fully furnished, but I plan to purchase new bedding; specifically, a new mattress for each bed.  I have a three-bedroom condo; two of the rooms have King Size beds and the third has a Queen Size bed.  Each bedroom has a beautiful ensuite bathroom with marble flooring.  I also have a powder room in the main living area, along with an additional full bathroom in the hallway, for a total of 4.5 bathrooms.  Each room in my condo is individually temperature controlled, which I absolutely love, since I often like it colder than my parents and others.

I LOVE the area where my Condo is located.  It is in Jumeirah Beach Residence area, which is a popular area considering I am across the street from the beach, and there are many restaurants and shops just outside of my Condo.  There are camel rides on the beach, as well as this awesome Hookah Lounge that I love.  The vibe is always amazing.  I look forward to hanging out there with my friends, family, and my love.  I purchased this condo as my own personal vacation home, and not as an investment property.  I plan to stay in this property several months out of the year, specifically during the cold U.S. East Coast winter months.

My next property will be an investment property in the same area, perhaps in the same building.  I plan to use the same realtor and attorney for that purchase as well since they were amazing!  I also plan to purchase an investment property on the Palm Jumeirah, as well as in the downtown Dubai area.  These properties will strictly be investment properties until I decide otherwise, and I will work with a local, reputable and outstanding management company for those properties.  I speak it into existence that my future tenants for those properties will be amazing, courteous, and take pride in where they live by taking care of the property.

One of my investment properties will be geared towards content creators in Dubai, who are looking for a creative art deco space for filming and other production uses.  I plan to work with a production and event company for these rentals, as well as to host parties and gatherings at my creative investment property.  Each room in this property will have a different theme to the décor and would allow for amazing backgrounds for both photos and videos.  Each room will be set up like a photography studio with ring lights, etc., and the latest equipment to record or photograph amazing content.

I am super grateful!  But what I am most grateful for, is my good health and the good health of my parents!  I enjoy my time in Dubai attending such events as the annual Shopping Festival, Global Village, Expo City, and much, much more! This truly feels like home, and I am elated to have manifested the life that I desire, but I know that this is only the beginning.

So again, I ask. What do you envision for your life? What kind of life do you want? Whatever that is, you can do it. Go for it, always remaining grateful during the process of obtaining everything that you desire. It is so important to always maintain an attitude of gratitude even as we come upon obstacles along the way.
