The Great Divide

There appears to be a great divide between men and women.  This issue has been on my mind for a while now, and to me, it appears that something is being done covertly to pit men and women against one another.  By the way, I recently did a TikTok video discussing this issue of a great divide between black men and black women, so be sure to follow me on TikTok here to check it out.

In diving deeper, although this appears to be a universal issue, and not simply black and white, we seem to hear about it more when it comes to black men and black women.  However, for this article, I want to focus on the genders alone, without regard to color.

I have noticed over the past few months that many podcasters, youtubers, and some tiktokers like to categorize all men or all women, simply based on their own experience.  They may have had failed relationships, whether platonic or romantic, and now they have what appears to be a bitterness towards an entire gender.

I have heard men say that women are just gold diggers, they are not loyal, and so on.  I have heard women say that men run from commitment, have unhealed mommy issues, and so on.  Nine times out of ten what they are saying is negative.  I have also heard both genders go as far as to say that we do not need one another, when we in fact do.

When we categorize an entire group of people, that shows only how ignorant we are.  Imagine a crime is committed against someone by a black man or a white man, and now due to that, this person hates an entire race of people simply due to the actions of one person.  That really seems stupid, doesn’t it?  But unfortunately, when we attack men and women based on our own experiences, and put them all in the same category, ignoring the fact that we are all different, that sounds just as ignorant.

Going into any relationship or friendship with pre-conceived notions about men or women really stifles a real opportunity to get to know this person for them.  Just like I do not represent all women, there is no man, that represents all men.  There are good and bad men and women all over the world from every ethnicity and every race, and we need one another, and need to work together.  None of us lives in a silo.

When I say that we need one another, I am not just speaking from a dating standpoint because you can date whoever you want.  I am also not speaking from a standpoint of not being able to do things on your own, because you absolutely can and have the power to do so.  However, men and women accomplish so much more when we come together and work together.  We each bring an amazing set of ideas and experiences that can enhance any experience.

Ultimately, I believe that we need to stop allowing this program that is coming into this system, to divide and separate us.  This should be a year of all of us uniting and coming together is some way.
