You Are Unique. Embrace It.

Please read this carefully.  Everyone is not going to like you.  Not everyone will think that you are handsome or beautiful.  Some will think you are too fat, too thin, too tall, too short, and so on.  But guess what?  That’s ok.  You are not for everyone, but why would you want to be?  I do not fit into everyone’s idea of what is attractive and so on, or into their narrow box.  And I would never try, and neither should you. 

Some people think that everyone is supposed to like them or be attracted to them, and actually become upset when that is not the case.  Or, they will say that a person is being a hater or that they are jealous.  To me, that is nothing but their ego talking, because they cannot fathom that there are some people who are not attracted to them.  It’s as if their pride has been insulted. 

I went to school with a young lady with that mindset, and it was quite exhausting.  You could not convince her that some people just did not like her or see her beauty that she clearly thought everyone could see.  Of course, she accused me of being jealous of her when I told her that not everything thinks that she is cute.  Why was I not surprised?

Throughout my life, I have come across many people with this same mindset.  No matter how good you look to you, or how great of a person you believe you are, not everyone is going to feel the same way.  Could some people in fact simply be jealous?  Of course.  However, that is not the case the majority of time.  It could be something about you that is off putting to them, or they just do not like your look. 

We all have our own preferences, and we would be lying if we said that we found everyone attractive whom we have come across.  Just like you are not attractive to everyone, physically or personality wise, not everyone is attracted to you.  Some people for some reason just cannot accept this concept.

Repeat after me.  “I am not everyone’s cup of tea and that is alright.”  You cannot please everyone, nor should you even try to.  Be yourself, and you will naturally attract those into your life that are meant to be there, whether it be romantic, platonic, or even business relationships.  Everyone is not for you.  You are unique, so why would you want to fit into everyone’s box anyway?
