You Know How ‘They’ Are
You know how they do, and you know how they are. We all know who ‘they’ are, and if not, as you continue reading this article, you will be able to figure out who ‘they’ are from the context.
First, they create the problem, whether big or small, but of course, this is not always obvious. They tend to act just as surprised as you are. Next, they see how you and others will react to the problem that they created. Based on those behaviors in response to the fear tactics and other tactics put out there, they will then propose a so-called solution to the very problem that they created. You may ask, what is the point? This allows them to look like a hero that came to the rescue. It then appears that they heard your complaints and understand your plight, in an effort to make it seem like they have only your best interest at heart.
In actuality however, they are simply proposing and eventually enforcing a solution that they wanted in place all along. The question now becomes ‘why not just impose this so-called solution in the first place by changing the law, and so on?’ Here’s the thing. Instead of simply imposing something, thereby appearing as a dictator, they want to make it look like this was in response to something you wanted.
In order to carry out this plan, they had to create some kind of chaos to make it look like you are asking for the solution, so it does not appear that they are being a dictator and just telling you that this is the new rule. If they had just come out and put something in place, people may rebel and try to fight against it. This way, again, it appears as if they are coming to your rescue to address said “problem.” Again, the problem that they created.
This is similar to when you were a kid and you got disciplined for certain things that you would say. It wasn’t always what you said, but more so how you said it and the inflection in your voice. Perhaps you said it in a disrespectful way or had an attitude when you said it. That said, more often how we say things and how we do things, often times determines how it will be received. If they just simply said that they were going to implement something, again, people could potentially rebel and resist, and it could be seen as a violation of first amendment rights, a dictatorship and so on.
Instead, when they create an issue where you are now demanding a solution, again the one they wanted all along, it takes the onus off of them and makes it appear as though they are helping. It is therefore better received because it appears that they heard your complaints and your cries versus them just trying to put something out there on their own. They are the hero coming to your rescue. Ultimately, if they show you that you ‘need’ something based on a problem or issue that they created, it is received much better, and ultimately, they get to implement a ‘solution’ that they wanted all along.
